Motorola Razr 40 Ultra ads appear on billboards in Europe

Motorola is officially unveiling the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra foldables at an event on June 1, but some of its subsidiaries simply couldn’t wait any longer, it seems, and decided to already put up a bunch of ads on billboards in the wild. Case in point – Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, in the European Union.

There are already ads for the Razr 40 Ultra on the streets of Sofia, even though we’re still a couple of days removed from the big launch event.

As you can see, these confirm the name yet again, and they don’t shy on presenting the phone from both sides, letting us see that gigantic outer screen from two different angles. That will surely become this handset’s biggest differentiating feature, since it simply has no competition – not from Samsung, not from Oppo.

The Razr 40 Ultra will be called that in most markets, but not the US, it seems, as there it will for some reason be referred to as Razr+. According to past leaks and rumors, it will come with a 6.9-inch 1080×2400 165 Hz inner screen, a 3.6-inch 165 Hz 1066×1056 outer screen, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset at the helm (that’s not a typo, it’s last year’s SoC), 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

The main camera is a 12 MP f/1.5 snapper with 1.4μm pixels and optical image stabilization, while next to it sits a 13 MP f/2.2 ultrawide with 1.12μm pixels. Embedded in the hole punched into the folding screen is a 32 MP selfie snapper with f/2.4 aperture.

The biggest disappointment here is the lackluster 3,800 mAh battery which will definitely not win any endurance awards. Charging is up to 33W wired, with a brick in the box, and there’s unspecified support for wireless charging too.

The Razr 40 Ultra will retail for around €1,199 in Europe, and will be offered in Infinity Black, Glacier Blue, and Viva Magenta.
