It’s been almost a year now since the announcement of the Huawei Band 8, and the company already teased that a Band 9 is on its way, likely to arrive alongside FreeLace Pro 2 headphones. A new leak claims that both devices will likely be going on sale in April.
We have a slew of high-resolution and official-looking images of what is said to be the Huawei Band 9, apparently thanks to careless retailers. The Band 9, model number KIM-B19, codename “Kimi,” appears to be practically identical to its predecessor. This has become the norm for the Huawei Band since the Band 8 didn’t really differ much from its predecessor, either.
The Huawei Band 9 still offers a 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 368×194 pixel resolution and a 180 mAh onboard battery. You still get 5 ATM water resistance, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for connectivity. According to the source, the price of the Band 9 will remain unchanged as well at €59.
What has changed is the color selection. According to the source, five colors are planned for the device itself: black, blue, white, yellow and pink. New straps will also be available, including a textile strap that comes with the blue Band 9.
Huawei did promise “a new era in wrist fashion and sleep feature enhancements” in its Band 9 teaser, so perhaps we can also look forward to some new features.
