Alright, first things first: the Poco M6 Pro confused us, and it’s hardly the first time Xiaomi has pulled this maneuver on us. There already is a Poco M6 Pro 5G out there, announced all the way back on August 5 2023. It is an India-only model and a 5G device. To add to the confusion further, the Indian Poco M6 Pro is sort of a rebranded Redmi 12 5G with a slightly different back design.
What we have in the office for review today is the brand-new Poco M6 Pro for global markets, and it has nothing to do with either of the already-mentioned phones. Its specs are notably different and quite a bit more premium than the Indian version in some aspects and not so much in others. For instance, the global M6 Pro has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, but it does lack 5G.

In the camera department, the global Poco M6 Pro has an additional ultrawide camera for a total of three snappers on the back. The global model also has fast 67W charging for its 5,000 mAh battery. You even get a compatible fast charger in the box.
Unboxing
Speaking of the charger, let’s go over the retail package really quickly. The Poco M6 Pro ships in a bright yellow two-piece cardboard box like many other Poco devices. No plastic phone cradle is inside the box, but the phone itself is still nicely nestled and protected.
The included accessory package is actually pretty rich. As already mentioned, you get a 67W Xiaomi fast charger in the box. It is sometimes called a Turbo Fast Charger. The charger is accompanied by a compatible USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable. It is a proprietary cable, so you better hold on to it in order to charge at the maximum speed.
Last but definitely not least, our retail box for the Poco M6 Pro also includes a nice, soft TPU case for the phone, so you can start using it right away.
