Samsung was reportedly planning an Unpacked event for the Galaxy S24 launch in early January, and new reports double down on the timeframe. According to industry insiders in South Korea, the new flagships will arrive “early next year,” and just like the last time, the event will be in San Francisco.

The Korean source pointed out that the event will be a one-hour drive from Apple’s HQ in Cupertino. This is barely a surprise, as the Galaxy S23 lineup was also introduced there, and Samsung has a history of hosting its big launches in the US – the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 debuted in New York.
Samsung hosted the last Unpacked in South Korea to promote its home country and its bid for Expo 2030, which could take place in Busan, the second-biggest city after Seoul.
At the event, we expect to see a trio of Galaxy S24 smartphones – the vanilla S24 and S24+ with a mixture of Exynos 2400 and Snpadragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets and a Galaxy S24 Ultra exclusively powered by the Qualcomm platform, which was recently spotted on Geekbench.
