TCL likes to unveil at least a few new tablets at CES and this year we got the NxtPaper 14 Pro and Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G. Both tablets feature NxtPaper 3.0 displays, which gain a new polarizing filter and updated DC dimming for a more natural reading experience and less eye strain.
NxtPaper 14 Pro
NxtPaper 14 Pro features a 14-inch IPS LCD with 2,880 x 1,800px resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Being a NxtPaper panel, it still features a mate texture but it now gets updated to 700 nits peak brightness. The screen boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio and TCL also added a dedicated NxtPaper button which allows for fast toggling between the monochrome, reduced colors and full-color mode display modes. The back houses a single 50MP main cam and an LED flash
TCL went with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8020 chipset paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The software side is covered by Android 14 with TCL’s UI overlay while the battery comes in at 12,000 mAh and offers 33W charging over USB-C. TCL did not reveal any pricing details for the NxtPaper 14 Pro for now but it did confirm the tablet is launching in Spring 2024 starting with the US.
Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G
TCL also has a smaller 10-inch Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G tablet which brings the same NxtPaper 3.0 tech to a 10.4-inch LCD with 2,560 x 1,440px resolution and 700 nits brightness. Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G is equipped with an unspecified eight-core chipset which boasts 5G connectivity paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Tab 10 NxtPaper 5G boots Android 14 and features a smaller 6,000 mAh battery.
Both of TCL’s new tablets are coming to select regions, starting with the US in Spring 2024, but will not be available in Europe, the Middle East or Africa.
